This post is from Friday:
It's 12:33 am and I'm still awake and about to give a breathing treatment. Yes, you read that right. Jaxon has RSV. I am believing that God is going to heal him in a speedy way, but this post isn't to focus on how the enemy is trying to bring sickness on my boys this week, but to praise God for how GOOD He is!!
I've been debating all week on whether to take Jaxon to the doctor. His coughing sounded terrible, but I couldn't tell if the junk was in his throat or his chest. Thursday night, he had 2 scary episodes (well, scary for me) in the middle of the night. One time, he started coughing and he couldn't catch his breath. There wasn't anything I could do to help him, which made it even more frustrating. The second time, he had the longest, most painful, rolling burp/choking. . . that doesn't even explain it good, but it scared me because I have never heard or felt anything like that.
He got up on Friday morning, took a bottle and went right back to sleep. I went ahead and called the doctor to make an appointment. Be there at 2:30 pm. Jaxon woke up took another bottle and started smiling, etc. We headed to town, but Jaxon was acting FINE! I almost called to cancel the appointment, but decided to go ahead with it since it was Friday.
Here's where God gets good!! We sign in at the desk at 2:35 pm and we were in a room waiting on the doctor at 2:45 pm!! That in itself is a miracle! Usually during this time of year, you can wait HOURS to get back there!
Dr. S came in to look at him. (Jaxon now weighs 14 lbs. 15 oz. by the way!) I told him I just wanted to make sure the junk wasn't in his chest. He took one look at him and said, "Well, it is." He talked to me about RSV and what it meant. I remembered all of it from Evan. Dr. S said if I had let it go over the weekend, it could have gotten bad enough quick enough to put him in the hospital. Dr. S finished his exam and asked me if I had insurance. I said no. He said, "OH NO!" I said, "Yeah, just what I was thinking." I know this medicine is expensive -- could be around $200 for a box of it!
He told me he had samples of the medicine he would give me. He would give Jaxon a prescription, but it wouldn't be too bad. Then he said something about the machine. I said, "Oh I have one of those." He said, "Oh good!! That's a relief. So, this won't be so bad." He gave me the mask and the tubes for free.
So, all in all, it cost me $60 for the office visit and $4 for the prescription!! $4 for the medicine out of my pocket!! This medicine is really expensive and God GAVE it to me!!
Well, continue to believe for a speedy recovery for Jaxon. 12:45 am . . time for a breathing treatment!
